The training was held by Westchester County Police at the shuttered Galleria Mall in White Plains. where the Emergency Service Unit honed their high-angle rope rescue skills, the department said on Saturday, April 27.
During the exercise, officers simulated a rescue of a person who had fallen down an elevator shaft and a person who had fallen two stories from a ledge.
''ESU members train regularly to maintain their skills to ensure proficiency in actual incidents," the department said in a social media post about the training, adding, "We commend ESU for staying ready to answer the call and serve the residents of Westchester!"
